2018 MODEL UN |
Post Date: Nov. 29, 2018 |
Six of Cambridge International Academy's students will take part in the Cedarbrae C.I. Model United Nations Conference (CCIMUN) on Thursday, December 6th, 2018. The conference will consist of an opening ceremony, followed by sessions of productive debate, and ending with a closing/awards ceremony. CCIMUN will provide participants with an opportunity to explore contemporary challenges our world faces through debating and proposing solutions from the point of view of an assigned country, while gaining an awareness of international relations. CCIMUN will offer delegates many committees to choose from, including the World Health Organization, United Nations Security Council, United Nations Human Rights, and Harry Potter. All six students from Cambridge International Academy will participate in the World Health Organization and each of them will represent for one country, including Albania, Cuba, Iceland, Mali, Poland and Tanzania. Their topics are "Unsafe Abortion", "Malaria" and "Child Immunization"; in order to gain benifits for "their country", students need to prepare a "Position Paper" to stand for their standpoint. After discussing those topics during the meeting, they will come up with a "Draft Resolution" to deal with the problem. Wish them a good experience!
