For the months of December and January, CCIA students will focus on the character trait diligence. Diligence is the art of doing one's best and viewing one's setbacks as opportunities of learning. We all know diligence is needed in all phases of life because it is the number one ingredient for our success be it at school, work, and/or in our personal life. This trait provides us with a desire for goal setting which takes continued action to move forward and overcome obstacles along the way until our goals are attained. Embracing diligence requires work but the rewards are immense for those of us who stick with it. 

Below are three ways to be a diligent student:

1. Plan, Plan, &  Plan: planning helps students with their organization and ability to get tasks done in a timely manner.

2. Dangers of over extending oneself: it is important to have a balance of school and personal commitments. Overextending oneself may create anxiety and hinder one's achievement. Finding the perfect 'sweet spot' will help one to maintain diligence in all one's academic and personal quests. 

3.Perfect Time Management Skills: chunking one's time accordingly will help students during those stressful times of year when mid-term and/or final exams approach, as well as assignments from multiple courses are due.
