QIU, YEWEI (William)

In China, I have graduated from the junior high school, and I got a pretty good mark in the senior high school entry examination. However, my parents felt that I was overloaded and my health condition was not so good due to the huge stress in China. Therefore, they would like me to study abroad and get better education here. As we all know that, there are numbers of famous Universities here such as University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, McGill University, etc. I personally believe that the education system is more suitable for me, since it is more humanized.

As time passed by, I have studied here in Canada already for about one year. To be honest, this is the first time for me to study abroad, living with the homestay family and that actually made me felt a little bit nervous at first, since I was not that independent. Thanks to the great opportunity, it had trained me to survive by myself as well as practiced my skills. For instance, I have almost no language barriers now wherever I go to. Besides, I made more friends here, and I have learned how to take care of ourselves, since we are all international students so that we need to do most of the things on our own.

What is more, all the teachers are so kind and always eager to help students who has trouble with something. A few months ago, I finished applying the Universities. Thanks to the help from the teachers that helped me to prepare for the interview as well as contact the universities, my application was fairly successful. On the weekends, the school also provided me the opportunities to attend different activities such as the robotics club and even the front of house, which is my favorite. I got to know a lot of people who works in the community theatre, since I am a huge fan of theatre. Overall, I’ve got straight As after the whole year study at Cambridge International Academy, it was my pleasure to enter this school.
