To qualify for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, students select 18 compulsory credits and 12 electives from the more than one hundred courses CIA offers, successfully complete the Provincial Secondary School Literacy Test, and perform 40 Hours Community Involvement Activities. Course selection consists of:

4 English
1 French
3 Mathematics – (1 senior)
2 Science
1 Science (senior) OR Technology
1 Canadian History
1 Canadian Geography
1 Arts (music, art, drama)
1 Physical & Health Education
1 English OR third language OR Social Science OR Canadian and World Studies
1 Civics and Career Studies (consists of two .5 credit courses)
1 Phys-Ed OR Arts OR Business Studies

plus: 12 Elective Credits (to be selected from the various courses offered by the school)
